Relatively often, serious injuries occur at workplaces that use handling technology due to inattention or incorrect handling of equipment and loads. In order to avoid these risks as best as possible, it is a good idea to consider equipping our equipment with additional safety features that limit this risk.
Today, we have a number of additional systems to choose from that will make our work easier, more efficient and, as a result, save costs.
One of the main and now frequently used systems is the blue spot or blue LED warning light for forklift trucks. This distinctive point blue light alerts you to the presence of a device. The light point is visible up to 5 m in front of or behind the truck, depending on the setting. Another option to prevent a collision with a person or cargo is an additional camera system. This system installs them on the device, where it is then possible to use the screens to monitor and monitor what is happening in front of or behind the device, as well as in blind spots. A reflex sensor, or reflective elements, is a significant helper with safety, whether it is reflective strips on employees' vests or a reflex on markings. These additional sensors are mounted on the back of the device and can cover a return field of up to 120° when using 2 sensors. If these sensors detect an obstacle in their set field, they alert you with a sound signal. Another common feature are laser systems, which help especially with cargo handling. Their ability is to show and make visible the place where the supporting forks are moving. They help the operator with safe handling at height and prevent damage to the load when visibility is reduced. These laser systems are most often available in green or red with the possibility of point targeting or a horizontal line. And the last way to protect the load and possible passers-by is the anti-slip treatment of the forks. For forklift trucks, cast protection of the existing forks can be used, when a special material is applied to the forks to prevent the load from slipping off the forks. It will also protect new cast floors from damage and dirt and extend the life of the support fork. However, if we do not need to use long-lasting anti-slip treatment all the time, but only for occasional handling, magnetic anti-slip sleeves would be more suitable for us. These covers are attached to the fork by very strong magnets, and after the required manipulation is completed, they are simply removed and stored.
